Programs
SOC provides services through multiple programs. Most programs are coordinated by SOC staffers, sometimes with the aid of volunteers, and often take place or originate at our facility at 17150 Waterloo in Grosse Pointe.

Food and Friendship
Food & FriendshipThere's nothing quite as nice as a friend who shares your laughter, wishes, secrets, and concerns. And it's amazing how many friendships begin right here at SOC. Through the Food and Friendship program, hot meals are served daily to seniors who want fellowship and a tasty, wholesome lunch.

Prior to lunch, we host activities such as a 2 level exercise program, bingo, movies, crafts and local trips. You can find specific times and days for these activities listed on our Calendar page.

For further information email socfoodandfriendship@yahoo.com or call Joan Thornton or Susan Kopf at 313.882.9600, Ext. 242.

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels volunteersMeals on Wheels contributes to the overall well-being of seniors by providing regular nutrition and daily contact with a caring volunteer. A hot meal is provided five days per week to Harper Woods and Grosse Pointe area residents who are unable to shop or prepare meals for themselves. This can include people who are ill, recently hospitalized or above the age of 60 years.

To request this service, call Anne Stoehr at 313.882.9600.

Case Coordination
It takes great patience and understanding to learn what another person wants, needs, and feels. Our Case Coordination program helps seniors that need extra attention.

Appropriate services are arranged, along with ongoing personal contact as needed.  Though senior's are referred to Case Coordination for a variety of reasons, our social workers always focus on the client’s self-determination, empowerment and dignity.

Call Nina Mondalek, BSW at 313.882.9600 Ext. 241 or email socninam@yahoo.com for assistance.
